Hello xxx

Welcome

Welcome to my own little private space on the world wide web.  This space is somewhere for me to journal the everyday moments of my life, my wide eyed travels and the odd rambling thoughts. More importantly, it is a way to share them with you - my nearest and dearest people.

This is a very personal site and it has taken a lot of courage and procrastination to get here.  So, I am taking baby steps. This means that I plan to share the details of this site with only a small number of people who are close to my heart and I hope you don't mind me asking you to be thoughtful about sharing this sight (i.e. I trust that you won't).

As you already know me, there is no need for me to introduce myself to you.  That said,  I feel that I do not readily voice my inner self with even those closest to me and I want to have a go at letting 'me' be seen a little more. So, here we go!

I am.....

a recovering perfectionist learning to love my messy, opinionated, independent, creative, impatient, forever learning, warrior, dreamer, hyper introverted self.

I believe in....

- integrity

- compassion

- my intuition

- laughter

- flower fairies

- nature

- my husband.

I love....

- cats (as you know), more specifically, blue eyed Birman lovlies - the fluffier the better

- the sun and morning light is my favourite

- swimming

- scheming with my great friend (you know who you are)

- waking up after a good night's sleep and sitting outside with a mug of coffee.

Greens of summers, what's that about then?

The name of this blog comes from the lyrics to the Paul Simon song, Kodachrome.  Originally, I chose it because I love the song and taking photographs (and the reference to Nikon reminds me of Heidi) but the more I listen to the song, the more it has meaning to me.  The song reminds me to be present in my life.  I understand the lyrics to say that we learn who we are through how we experience life and that our experience of life is coloured by our ways of seeing.  The song reminds me that I want to learn how to see the world in a more mindful way.

I have set out the lyrics to the song and some ramblings (you are hereby forewarned) on what they mean to me here.
